Relax on Double Six Beach
One of the best things to do in Seminyak, Bali, is hanging out at the beach! Double Six Beach is one of the main beaches to enjoy in Seminyak, and for good reason.
Whether you are looking to relax on one of the many rented lounge chairs, head to a beach bar, swim, or take a walk down the beach, this beach has you covered.
Take a Surf Lesson
Bali is known for its surfing conditions, so you will see tons of people getting lessons and real-deal surfers right on the beach. We saw tons of people getting lessons down Double Six Beach!
Get A Massage
Bali is the perfect place to pamper yourself at an amazing price! Seriously, we couldn’t believe the costs of services compared to the USA.
We tried Spa Bali Drupadi, and the service was great. My husband and I did a couples massage, and I got a rose petal bath for about $20 USD. There are tons of Spa’s around Seminyak that can fit every price budget from low-end to super luxurious.
Address: Jalan Drupadi, Kuta, Seminyak, Bandung, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Hit The Beach Clubs
Beach clubs are easily one of the best things to do in Seminyak! Many of them are free entry and include pools and access to a more private beach. They generally have amazing food, lounge areas you can reserve (call a few days in advance), fun music and luxurious vibes.
When you visit these clubs, security is airport tight, seriously… They scan underneath your car, scan you with a metal detector and make you throw out liquids over a certain amount.
We hung out at Potato Head Beach Club and had a great time!
Address: Jl. Petitenget No.51B, Kerobokan Kelod, Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Other Seminyak beach clubs to check out are Mozaic, Cocoo, and Ku De Ta.
Shop around Jalan Laksmana
Get your shopping on at Jalan Laksmana road and surrounding areas. With tons of boutiques and shops, you will be sure to find some great steals! Remember to bargain!
Watch A Bali Sunset On The Beach
By far, one of my favorite things to do in Seminyak is watching the sunset on the beach! We went every single night, and I have yet to see a more beautiful sunset in my life.
Try A Cooking Class
Bali is known for having amazing cooking classes! Learn more about the Balinese culture and have fun making cooking some delicious food while in Seminyak.
Check Out The Insta-Worthy Cafes
Another one of the top things to do in Seminyak includes making your way through the cutest and Insta-Worthy Cafes! Not only are they super cute and trendy, but the food is also delicious. When visiting, don’t be alarmed if they check your bags and or use a metal detector. Some cafes to add to your list include:
Mexicola: Awesome Mexican food and really cute decor. Head here during the day if you want to take photos, but at night the restaurant/bar has really great energy. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time!
Address: Jalan Kayu Jati No. 9X, Petitenget, Kerobokan Kelod, Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Nalu Bowls Shelter: Get your “Bali Bowl” acai fix here! When you arrive, walk upstairs to a really cute café space. This was our favorite bowl spot! You could find us here with bowls and french fries…call us weird, lol.
Address: Jl. Drupadi 1 No.2A, Seminyak, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Sea Circus: Sea Circus is known for being super Instagrammable, although we didn’t get a chance to actually eat here. We did get tons of recommendations for Sea Circus, so I can imagine the food is also good.
Address: Jl. Kayu Aya No.22, Seminyak, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
La Plancha Beach Bar & Restaurant: Did anyone say party on the beach? They must be talking about La Plancha located right on Double Six Beach! With tables and bean bag chairs set up, you have the best of both worlds! If nothing else, grab a Bintang beer and take a seat for the sunset!
Address: Jalan Mesari Beach, Seminyak, Kuta, Seminyak, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Take A Day Trip
Seminyak is close to many attractions that can be seen in a couple of hours to a day. Some awesome places you should consider day-tripping to include Tegenungan Waterfall, Tanah Lot Temple, visiting the surf town of Uluwatu for a day, or checking out the town of Canggu.
Canggu is known as the “new” Ubud, with tons of digital nomads. You can also find some of the best cafes in Canggu.
You can also take a day trip to the Nusa Islands, however, I would really recommend more than one day if you have time!
Getting Around Seminyak Bali
The best way to get around Seminyak is by scooter or taxi. When hiring taxis, look for the Blue Birds or you can try Grab (like Uber), but be careful as Bali is trying to ban the use of Grab.
If you feel comfortable riding a scooter, this is your cheapest option. If you go this route, make sure to be extremely careful since driving is on the left side and rules are not strictly enforced.
This leads to many scooter accidents, especially with tourists. If you decide to go with a scooter, getting gas can be quite comical. You will see little stands on the side of the road that say “petrol” with vodka bottles or other containers… yup!
Where to Stay In Seminyak
Being a beach town, there are tons of accommodations to choose from in Seminyak. We chose a moderate, budget-friendly hotel called Tijili. They had an amazing breakfast, beautifully updated rooms, and a funky cool layout.
We loved hanging by the pool and writing or walking down to the beach, which was about a 7-minute walk (Double Six Beach). You can check prices here: Booking.com
Tips Before Visiting Seminyak
- You will find that Bali has a lot of stray dogs. Keep your distance.
- We experienced a lot of locals asking us if we wanted drugs. DO NOT GET THEM! Bali is extremely tough on drugs. Sentencing can be from 4 years to a life sentence.
- Bring extra tissues with you. Not all toilets have toilet paper since they use a spray hose instead.
- Make sure to bring bug spray with DEET.
