St. Augustine has begun to feel like a second home to me. We visit multiple times a year to visit family, and I have noticed how increasingly popular this historic city has become. So, if you are trying to decide where to stay in St. Augustine, I have what I think are the top 10 hotels for you!
All you have to decide is whether you want to stay closest to the beach or in the heart of the city. Don’t worry, because neither is too far from one another (city center or beach)! Other things to keep in mind while checking out this list of St. Augustine hotels are that I have included a handful of pet-friendly hotels, boutique hotels, and places that have parking. If you decide to rent a car in St. Augustine, this will be something you will want to look out for!
To top it off, I will include links to all the properties listed below through Booking.com. This is the platform I’ve been using to book my hotels since 2018. They almost always offer free cancellation, which I love. You will also be able to see a ton of other photos and reviews for each property from recent guests to further help with your decision!
If you’re visiting from outside the USA, you will be happy to know that all the hotels will have air conditioning, so this is not an amenity you will need to check for.

Casa Monica Resort & Spa, Autograph
Casa Monica Resort & Spa is a four-star hotel located in the heart and soul of St. Augustine!
By staying here, you’ll be right in the middle of the St. Augustine historic district, near the Matanzas river, and some of the best cafés and restaurants St. Augustine offers. I personally think it is in one of the very best locations if you don’t want to be beachside.
The building itself dates back to 1888, but despite its historic roots, it has a much more modern appeal. As for the hotel service, you can expect luxury from the moment you arrive.
Inside, you’ll find a heated outdoor pool, a hot tub, relaxing spa treatments, and a fitness area to start your day with a rush of feel-good endorphins!
Oh, they also have a lounge where you can purchase some indulgent midday cocktails and a Spanish Mediterranean-inspired restaurant for an elegant evening meal. What more could you ask for?
Due to its prime position in St. Augustine, you’ll also be right by some of the city’s best attractions, such as the Lightner Museum and St. George Street.
You’ll also be happy to know that you can bring your furry companion with you. However, their pet fee is quite high at $150.
The hotel is easily accessible and does have parking available at $39 per day.
Another thing to remember is that if you book the breakfast included rate, the breakfast is only covered up to $50. That will likely be plenty to cover you, but it’s worth keeping in mind as you tuck in!
Due to this accommodation being much more than just your average hotel, the prices are slightly higher than other hotels in the area. However, this is one of the best hotels in St. Augustine.
During the summer, you can find hotel rooms for around $370 per night, whereas, in the winter, the room prices tend to increase to around $450 per night.
Renaissance St. Augustine Historic Downtown Hotel
Now for something a little more affordable but still lovely is the Renaissance St. Augustine Historic Downtown Hotel.
As the name suggests, you’ll be right at the start of St. Augustine’s historic downtown center. Attractions such as the Spanish Quarter Museum and Castillo de San Marcos are just moments away. Plus, the downtown area is not huge, so you are truly within walking distance of just about everything.
This hotel is stylish and modern, and many of the rooms feature their own private balcony.
The Renaissance also has an outdoor swimming pool, a restaurant, and a bar where a whole host of delicious fresh cocktails will be served.
This hotel is also family-friendly (which may be a make-or-break aspect for you). If you’re a couple looking for adult-only accommodation, there are other hotels to choose from on this list that can accommodate that.
If you are traveling as a family, you should know that there are limited family-sized rooms, so you will need to book those in advance.
Parking is available at the hotel at $35 per day, and pets are not allowed, unfortunately!
Summer hotel prices are often around $450 but are subject to change depending on when you book your stay.

St George Inn – Staint Augustine
Rather get away from the big hotel chains? The St. George Inn gives off all the ‘home-away-from-home’ vibes you could ask for. This inn is ideal if you’re traveling solo or as a couple.
You’ll find the inn in the heart of the city, so you won’t need to rent a car (unless you’re planning day trips). You’ll be just a two-minute walk away from the iconic Castillo de San Marcos and some of Saint Augustine’s most famous sites and museums.
As for the rooms, you’ll have everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The rooms feature TVs, refrigerators, and you may even bag yourself a balcony with incredible views of Saint Augustine’s Spanish colonial buildings.
Only a continental breakfast is served within the hotel. However, the retail plaza is right outside your door, so you still have access to some great restaurants.
Pets are welcome to stay, but you’ll have to let them know beforehand, and you may be charged extra.
Parking is only available at a location nearby, and it is $17 per day.
During the summer season, hotel prices are around $350.
Check St. George’s Inn’s availability here.
Casa De Solana & Victorian House Bed and Breakfast
Another one of the best places to stay in St. Augustine is Casa De Solana’s Bed and Breakfast. The B&B is in a prime location just five minutes away from Anastasia State Park by car, which is one of Saint Augustine‘s most popular beaches. However, that is not all this B&B has to offer. This is one of the most homey yet beautifully decorated accommodations I have seen in a while.
The previous guests all rave about the whimsical atmosphere and great customer service. The B&B has a gorgeous garden, and you can also rent bikes to explore the city.
This location is ideal for a solo trip or to visit as a couple. Each of the bedrooms is beautifully decorated with private bathrooms, a cable TV, and free Wi-Fi. Each morning, you’ll have access to a home-cooked breakfast.
As for pets, only dogs are allowed, and you will be charged an additional $100 per pet. They also only have one pet-friendly room on the courtyard level, so make sure to check ahead of time.
Free parking is available.
The rooms remain around $230 throughout the entire year.

The Saint Augustine Beach House
The Saint Augustine Beach House has the most beautiful coastal vibes. This property is located on one of my favorite St. Augustine beaches, Vilano Beach.
The entire hotel is beautifully decorated in blues, greens, and wooden furniture pieces that help to create a complete space of calm.
The rooms are equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, and oceanfront views.
This is the type of place you go to for a week filled with slow mornings and ocean breezes. You’ll be situated right by the water, and you may even have a balcony to experience some incredible sunrises.
By staying here, you’ll be within walking distance to nearby restaurants and grocery stores, but you will need a car. Thankfully, they offer free parking. If you don’t want to rent a car, you can take an Uber into Downtown.

Cedar House Inn
The Cedar House Inn is another one of those inns that look like they’ve been taken straight out of a storybook.
This adult-only accommodation has a royal theme throughout, including various areas where you can spend time in nature and enjoy the perfect Florida weather.
The entire property has so much character, and with it being located right in the center of town, you’ll have so much to do right on your doorstep.
Each of the rooms is fully equipped with all your normal amenities. Nearby attractions include the old Saint Augustine village and Saint Augustine Beach.
Parking is available, and there are no additional parking fees.
Room prices remain around $300 per night throughout the year.

Hilton St. Augustine Historic Bayfront
For more of a traditional hotel experience, the Hilton St. Augustine Hotel is a great choice. Since this is a chain hotel brand, you know what you’re in for when staying here.
The hotel is equipped with an outdoor pool that overlooks Saint Augustine‘s historic district, a fitness center, and helpful concierge services that can point you in the direction of the best attractions. You will have access to public transport by staying here but renting a car may save you time.
Each of the rooms has the normal amenities you would expect, and depending on your room of choice, you may even get a balcony, too.
The indoor restaurant serves international cuisine with Spanish influences, which you can access for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Pets are not welcome at this property, however.
There is parking available on site. However, you will need to reserve a space, and it will cost $36 per day.

Hyatt Place St Augustine Vilano Beach
One of the best hotels in St. Augustine for beach lovers is right here. Located right by Vilano Beach, this hotel makes for the perfect escape away from the noise of the city center.
From a modern rooftop bar that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, a gorgeous outdoor pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness center, you will be spoiled for things to do.
The hotel has a selection of rooms and suites equipped with modern facilities.
However, The 24/7 dining is a huge selling point of this hotel. Free breakfast is also served every day. Additionally, they have a convenient bar with a Latin-inspired menu where you can grab all kinds of snacks and tropical cocktails.
Since they are located in Vilano Beach, you will need to either rent a car or get an Uber into the city center, which is around 5-10 minutes away by car.
As for pets, you are allowed to bring up to 2 dogs at a time for a charge of $75.
During the summer, hotel prices are around $200, and these increase to around $250 in the winter.

Casablanca Inn on the Bay
Another one of the best places to stay in St. Augustine if you’re looking for a cute traditional inn, is the Casablanca Inn on the Bay. Located right by the Bridge of Lyons this adorable Inn is located in a prime location.
The beautifully decorated historic building certainly has a lot of charm and character. Despite its traditional theme, you’ll still have access to modern amenities, and some hotel rooms have balconies.
This is a great location if you’re hoping to explore more of the city and see some of Saint Augustine‘s most popular attractions while being steps from coastal views.
Food and drink coupons are supplied at the hotel and they also have an excellent cocktail bar just at the entrance. You get one free cocktail for each day that you stay!
The staff are also praised online for being extremely accommodating. They are on hand to point you in the direction of all the best local hot spots.
The parking lot is two blocks away from the hotel, which is around a two-minute walk.
Only specific rooms outside of the main building are pet-friendly, and you will be charged $15 per pet per night. I would suggest checking ahead of time to make sure that these rooms are available.
This is a much more affordable hotel, with summer rooms starting at around $130. The room prices then currently increase to around $250 nearer to the end of the year.

Courtyard by Marriott St. Augustine Beach
I have always been a fan of Marriot properties because I know exactly what I am getting.
This hotel is located right by St. Augustine Beach, which is beautiful and has a popular fishing pier.
Inside the hotel, you’ll find clean, spacious rooms, an outdoor pool, and a bistro that offers a hearty American breakfast in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon and evenings.
Unfortunately, your pets will not be allowed at this one, but free parking is available, so it’s not all bad! Like the other beach hotels, you will likely want to rent a car to be able to get into town. Alternatively, you can take an Uber.
Room prices start at around $200 during the summer and remain the same throughout the year.
